London: Lithographed and Published under the Auspices of the New Zealand Association by Robert Martin and Co ... 1838. Cover title. 1 l., descriptive letterpress, 10 plates, 550 x 364mm. At head of title New Zealand Association Coat of Arms. The cover title is age toned and there are expert repairs to corners, as well as to the corners of the back cover. The plates are clean with a few spasmodic spots. Bagnall 1758.
The folio has been bound with its original paper covers into attractive half maroon leather with marbled boards, leather title label front board and gilt spine titles and housed in a custom made clamshell box.
2. In the same box and loosely enclosed in a similar binding 3 hand-coloured plates by Earle, all lithographed and published by R. Martin and Co - [1] Village of Parkuni, River Hokianga. Trimmed, light toning, short tear. 270 x 375mm; [2] Kororadika Beach. Light marginal toning, image clean. 320 x 425mm; [3] The Wounded Chief Hongi & His Family. Toning and pen mark on margin. 320 x 455mm.
