Art+Object is in the preliminary production stages of a quality catalogue of Important Paintings & Contemporary Art to be held on August 19. The catalogue will feature many notable, finely-provenanced works by Aotearoa-New Zealand's leading artists.

The catalogue is the second of the calendar year and follows on from the outstanding results achieved in our first sale of 'Important Paintings and Contemporary Art' on April 3. This auction comprehensively outperformed the other auctions held during the season, achieving a sale total of $2 739 860, with 94% of lots sold by value and 79% cleared by volume, and resulted in new record prices for the work of Jeffrey Harris and Karl Maughan.
Early consignments include major works by Ralph Hotere, Karl Maughan, Dale Frank, Sandy Adsett, Fiona Pardington, Frances Hodgkins, Colin McCahon and Don Binney. Appraisal appointments in Christchurch and Wellington are available throughout June.
