The New Zealanders Illustrated
London: Thomas McLean 1846-1847. One of the first issues in 10 parts, 555mm, each with the original cover-title, illustrated grey paper covers printed in red [No’s 1-4] and tan [No’s 5-10] all with red cloth spines, loss to the corner of one back cover. Dedication page, 7 p.l., [60] l., of explanatory notes on the 60 hand coloured tinted lithographs, extra hand coloured title page. Finger marks and some spasmodic light foxing, a few short tape repairs on margins and plate xiv with a tear, neatly repaired verso with paper. Plates generally clean. Housed in a contemporary half leather clamshell box with gilt spine title.
