The British clipper Holmsdale off a China trade port, ‘HOLMSDALE’

inscribed lower left and artist’s signature in Chinese script to the right
450 x 588 mm, in original black & gilt lacquered frame
The Holmsdale built in 1858 was owned by the Orient Line/Anderson, Anderson & Co, London. She was employed in the India and China trades and later in the Australian wool trade.
