The Roads from Kendal in Westmerland to Cockermouth/Egremond to the City of Carlisle in Cumberland.

The Anglo-Norman maxim, "honi soit qui mal y pense," surrounds the royal coat of arms of England at the bottom of the cartouche. Some browning, framed and mounted, 350 x 450 approx.
From John Ogilvy's Britannia, which was the first survey of the roads of England and Wales. It was also the first graphic delineation of roads which established the practice of representing the road on the continuous unfolding strip.
