Antoni Gaudi (Spain, 1852-1926) for BD Barcelona
A pair of Batllo chairs
Originally designed in 1906 for the Casa Batllo on Barcelona’s Passeig de Gracia, which he transformed into one of the most outstanding buildings in the city. BD was the first company to rescue them from history by embarking on their serial production using traditional art and craft techniques and the same materials -varnished solid oak- in order to reproduce all the rich detail displayed by the originals when they were first produced.
520 x 740 x 470mm
Provenance: Private collection, Auckland.
