PLEASE NOTE: The buyer’s premium for this auction is 19% of the hammer price plus GST on the buyer’s premium (total of 21.85% of the hammer price). This is to be paid on top of any successful bid. The buyer must pay the full amount due not later than 5 days after the auction date.
The absence of a condition report does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition (some items may have a very short damage description or may be described with "AF", which means “all faults”). The estimates always reflect the condition of a lot. All property is sold “as is” without warranty of any kind by art+object. Bidders who are unable to inspect the items in person are welcome to request additional information at: info@artandobject.co.nz or 093544646.
Packing and courier options are available at buyer’s risk and expense. We’ll be in touch after the auction to arrange.
The link to our full Terms and Conditions can be found on the app menu or at the bottom of each page on the desktop website. We would recommend that first time and/or overseas bidders familiarise themselves with this document, especially with our SUBJECT BIDS practice (point no. 11, which stands also for online bidding).

Art+Object is delighted to present the catalogue for the second Important Paintings & Contemporary Art auction of 2024, including works from the estate of New Zealand art world power couple, Francis Pound and Sue Crockford. The catalogue also features two major portraits by Charles Frederick Goldie, one of which, the large format portrait of Tamati Pehiriri, Chieftain of the Rarawa Tribe, was formerly in the collection of Dame Kiri te Kanawa and on long-term loan to Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki. The catalogue is particularly strong in the contemporary field with major works by Nick Austin, Sriwhana Spong, Richard Maloy, Peter Robinson, Ann Shelton, Andrew Barber and others all consigned from a significant private collection.
Please join us to preview the catalogue on Tuesday 6 August, 5pm–7pm | 3 Abbey Street, Newton, Auckland 1010. We will serve fine wines organically produced by our partner Seresin Estate and champagne by Taittinger. The artworks will then be on view at Art+Object every day until the auction on Tuesday 13 August, at 6pm.
