PLEASE NOTE: The buyer’s premium for this auction is 19% of the hammer price plus GST on the buyer’s premium (total of 21.85% of the hammer price). This is to be paid on top of any successful bid. The buyer must pay the full amount due not later than 5 days after the auction date.
The absence of a condition report does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition (some items may be described with A/F, which means “all faults”). The estimates always reflect the condition of a lot. All property is sold “as is” without warranty of any kind by art+object. Bidders who are unable to inspect the items in person are welcome to request additional information at: info@artandobject.co.nz or 093544646.
Packing and courier options are available at buyer’s risk and expense. We’ll be in touch after the auction to arrange.
The link to our full Terms and Conditions can be found on the app menu or at the bottom of each page on the desktop website. We would recommend that first time and/or overseas bidders familiarise themselves with our Conditions, especially with our SUBJECT BIDS practice (point no. 11, which stands also for timed-online auctions).

Art+Object is delighted to present the catalogue for New Collectors Art, Studio Ceramics & Applied Art.
The Studio Ceramics catalogue is headlined by local collector Michael Pohl’s collection of Keith Murray studio ceramics and glass. Pohl was born just three miles from the Wedgwood factory in North Staffordshire and first began collecting in the mid 1980s, having been captivated by the simple architectural forms of the ceramics paired with matt glazes. He increased the collection gradually over the following 36 years, purchasing pieces from decorative arts specialists including Art and Industry and dealer Gary Langsford. Much of the collection was exhibited at the Napier Art Deco festival in the late 1980s.
The New Collectors art auction features further works from Chris Booth's Collection, together with a variety of artworks by artists Gretchen Albrecht, Karl Maughan, Anne Noble, Emily Karaka, Ian Scott, Peter Stichbury, Anne Reithmaier, Dick Frizzell and many more.
This is a timed online auction, which will begin closing with lot 1 from 6pm on Tuesday 31 October. Thereafter, lots will close consecutively every 15 seconds, until the end of the auction. Lots will auto-extend if bidding is still active.
Please contact info@artandobject.co.nz or ring reception 09 354 4646 if you require assistance, we are happy to provide condition reports and answer additional queries.
