The final section of The Collection of the Late Ron Sang - Part II (from lot 165 onwards) will be held exclusive online.
PLEASE NOTE: The buyer’s premium for this auction is 19% of the hammer price plus GST on the buyer’s premium (total of 20.85% of the hammer price). This is to be paid on top of any successful bid. The buyer must pay the full amount due not later than 5 days after the auction date.
The absence of a condition report does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition (some items may be described with A/F, which means “all faults”). The estimates always reflect the condition of a lot. All property is sold “as is” without warranty of any kind by art+object. Bidders who are unable to inspect the items in person are welcome to request additional information at: info@artandobject.co.nz or 093544646 (condition reports are available until Saturday 18 March, 3:00pm).
Packing and courier options are available at buyer’s risk and expense. We’ll be in touch after the auction to arrange.
The link to our full Terms and Conditions can be found on the app menu or at the bottom of each page on the desktop website. We would recommend that first time and/or overseas bidders familiarise themselves with our Conditions, especially with our SUBJECT BIDS practice (point no. 11, which stands also for timed-online auctions).

Art+Object is delighted to present the online catalogue for The Collection of the Late Ron Sang - Part II. Sang passed away in June 2021 leaving behind an incredible legacy in the worlds of architecture, arts and publishing. A true gentleman whose contribution to the arts and architecture is immeasurable, Sang became an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit in 2000. As an architect he designed more than 400 buildings and as a publisher he produced impressive books on Len Castle, Pat Hanly, Ralph Hotere, Robert Ellis, Michael Smither and more.
The collection includes one of the most important private holdings of New Zealand ceramics with major works by Len Castle, Roy Cowan, Graham Ambrose, Barry Brickell and others. Also included are major paintings by Don Binney, Guy Ngan and Robert Ellis, alongside limited edition prints by Robin White, Gordon Walters, Josef Albers, Michael Smither and more. Lastly, the catalogue includes major sculptures by Paul Dibble, Greer Twiss, Christine Boswijk, and iconic Twentieth Century furniture designs by Eero Saarinen, Le Corbusier, Harry Bertoia and others.
The sale will be held at Art+Object on the afternoon of Sunday 19 March commencing at 2:30pm, after the property is auctioned by Ray White Parnell at 2:00pm, also on-site at Art+Object.
