From the library of the Wilson Family’s historic home ‘Lethenty’ at Bulls, a diverse collection of books which feature several rare items including: Major Robert Wilson D.S.O. copy of ‘New Zealand Deer Head’s; a large collection of natural history titles including Sir Walter Lawry Buller’s ‘A History of the Birds of New Zealand’ and Supplements; further military histories; illustrated children’s books by Walter Crane and Arthur Rackham; association copies of William Colenso titles.
We are also offering the Māori component of the library of Richard Nunns (1945-2021). Nunns was best known as an authority on, and expert player of, taonga pūoro, traditional Māori musical instruments. The catalogue includes his large collection of books which reflect his interest in Māori music, history, language and ethnology.
