158: New Collectors Art including the Kunst Collection | Applied Art
Live Auction
Live bidding began: Feb 23, 2021 at 6 PM NZDT
Auckland, New Zealand | 252 Lots

Art+Object’s first auction of 2021 is a fantastic collection of contemporary New Zealand and international art and applied arts. We are particularly thrilled to be offering works from The Kunst Collective, who are completing their first round of collecting after 13 years. Such is their enthusiasm for the act of collecting, they have already committed to re-starting the process for a second time. It has been wonderful to work with such an engaged and interested group of women, with common goals around friendship, education and experience. They have been open to exploring all areas of the New Zealand art world and in return they have been richly rewarded. We hope you enjoy reading more about their story in the catalogue and perhaps being one of the fortunate recipients of their souvenir badge. Focused exclusively on contemporary New Zealand work, and with a strong focus on female artists, the Kunst collection includes excellent works by: Star Gossage, Ngatai Taepa, Seraphine Pick, Richard Killeen, Nicola Farquhar, David Cauchi, Brendon Wilkinson, Emily Hartley-Skudder and others.

Complementing the Kunst collection are consigned works by Gordon Walters, Karl Maughan, Ralph Hotere, Sarah Hughes, Graham Fletcher, John Reynolds, Paul Hartigan, Lois McIvor and many more.

The buyer's premium for this auction is 17.5% of the hammer price plus GST on the buyer's premium (total of 20.12%).

3 Abbey Street, Newton, Auckland
On view daily from Friday 19 February until the auction date, 9:00am-5:00pm weekdays and 11:00am-4:00pm during the weekend
